Steve Stockman is a former American politician who served as a U.S. Representative from Texas. A member of the Republican Party, he represented Texas's 9th congressional district from 1995 to 1997 and later Texas's 36th district from 2013 to 2015. Known for his staunchly conservative views and provocative rhetoric, Stockman was an outspoken critic of the Clinton and Obama administrations.
His political career was marked by controversy, and in 2018, he was convicted on multiple felony charges including fraud and misuse of charitable donations. He was sentenced to ten years in prison but was released in 2020 after receiving a commutation from President Donald Trump.
