Biography

Charles Sauer is a seasoned economic policy expert, free-market advocate, and author. He began his career working for the U.S. Senate Finance Committee chairman and as a legislative analyst on tax, immigration, and labor issues at the state level. In 2007, he became Deputy Legislative Director at the National Center for Policy Analysis. He then led Entrepreneurs for Growth and co-founded the Free Market Medical Association before launching Market Institute in 2010, where he serves as President.

Sauer writes and speaks widely on entrepreneurship, economic freedom, and public policy. His book Profit Motive: What Drives the Things We Do explores the interplay between individual incentives and societal prosperity. He regularly contributes to Washington Examiner, Forbes, Investor’s Business Daily, and other outlets.
